The 2005 is an assemblage of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot andthe balance is Cabernet Franc. The nose offers restrained aromas of ripeblackberry fruit, with a lovely pure accent. The palate impresses with itselegance, there is a good density of fruit here, but nothing too overt. Thefruit seems cool and refined, and the tannins are gentle, silky butnonetheless gripping. The sense of balance seems near perfect here, andthe wine leads to a fine, lingering finish. Classic Haut-Bailly.
