2005 Château Pichon-Longueville (Baron), Cru Classé Pauillac

2005 Château Pichon-Longueville (Baron), Cru Classé Pauillac

There is a wealth of finely-expressed fruit here, silken ripe, tannins and a distinct minerally streak to the long driven finish. One has the impression of gradually building intensity as opposed to heady volume. Sophisticated and refined, this is quite simply a stunning wine and, even with the quality bar set so high at the Château, this ranks among the finest in recent history. Exceptional pauillac.
