Deep and intense in the glass, the nose is fresh, revealing ripe cherry, with a lightly spiced, fragrant touch.There is a sense of restraint here - the wine offers a pleasing intensity on the palate, by no means overly heady. The fruit reveals layer after layer of dusky cherry and plum, with earthy, minerally nuances and fine, silky tannins adding to the impression of harmony. This is a very natural wine, nothing forced or drying despite its considerable tannin. An effortless lingering finish signals a very fine Calon.
