2004 Château L'Eglise-Clinet, Pomerol

2004 Château L'Eglise-Clinet, Pomerol

Comprising 90% Merlot and the balance Cabernet Franc, Denis Durantou has crafted a very fine L’Eglise-Clinet. Even though cold when tasted, this shows expressive gently-perfumed, ripe-cherry fruit on the nose. The palate is generous and dense with a fabulous velvety texture; the sheer volume of fruit masks a firm structure beneath. This has layer upon layer of spice-tinged fruit with a good arc of flavour, from floral-scented, red fruits to deeper, sultry plum and damson. Very fine pomerol in the classic style. The harvest concluded here on the 1st October.
