2004 Château Haut-Brion, 1er Cru Pessac-Léognan

2004 Château Haut-Brion, 1er Cru Pessac-Léognan

This wine has great hidden depth and power but manages to retain remarkable freshness despite this concentration. A suggestion of sweet blackcurrant, yet smells 'cool'. Plenty of fine dry tannins to balance the richness of the fruit, and the acidity carries the flavours through to a long finish. Delicious and very classy. 61% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19%Cabernet Franc.
