A wine for the purist, Haut-Bailly is on a roll and in our view is one of the leading pessac-léognans of the vintage. Still closed on the nose, the palate is a vibrant mix of red and black cherry, ably supported by fine ripe tannins and with the mineral quality that one looks for in classic graves. The complexity and elegance of mature vintages is sure to develop, with those wonderful hints of fruitcake and spice.
