Pontet Canet enjoys an enviable terroir, just next to Mouton Rothschild, and Alfred Tesseron has made a great job in re-establishing the quality of this château. It certainly has time on its side, but is now starting to show its charms. It has a lovely pure scent of ripe blackcurrants, laced with a classic pauillac smoky minerality. A powerful, rich and velvety body is packed with concentrated black fruit flavours which last for ages after swallowing.
