Dating back to 1549, Château de Beaucastel may be the oldest estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, now managed by four members of the Perrin family. One of the first estates in the region to utilise organic viticulture, they are known for their use of all 13 permitted grape varieties, particularly Mourvèdre, resulting in powerful, generous wines. As well as red and white Châteauneuf, the estate produces a Vieilles Vignes Blanc from Roussanne and the extremely rare cuvée, Hommage à Jacques Perrin.
