Crystallum’s Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs number among some of the finest examples of these varieties produced in the Cape.

Owner Peter-Allan Finlayson started Crystallum in 2007, with his brother Andrew as a partner in the business, and his cousin able to give him some cellar space at Creation. He’d never worked in a cellar before, and there were challenges aplenty in the early years but through hard work and advice and friends and colleagues has help hone and develop this estate’s style and reputation.

In 2021 Peter-Allan was named Tim Atkin MW’s ‘South African Winemaker of the Year’. He is always on the lookout for new vineyards and with each vintage he strives to make even better wines. The winemaking at Crystallum has evolved over the years, with all the wines now fermented with indigenous yeasts and the use of new oak reduced to preserve the purity of fruit.
