Château Quintus is one of the most exciting properties on the Right Bank. It was created in 2011 by Domaines Clarence Dillon, owners of First Growth Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion, who purchased a few hectares of vines in St-Emilion, close to Grand Cru Classé (A), Château Angélus. An amalgamation of several vineyards, the name Quintus pays homage to St-Emilion’s Roman roots and references its status as the fifth property in the Clarence Dillon portfolio. It sits perched on a 62-metre high limestone mound, surrounded by some of St-Emilion’s best names and atop some of the finest terroir in the region. There are 28 hectares of vines overseen by the winemaking team from Haut-Brion led by Jean-Philippe Delmas in the modernised cellar and with continued investment in the vineyards. A new bottle shape was designed for Château Quintus with an elegant raised seal, inspiration taken from old Haut-Brion bottles found in a pirate’s lair in the Indian Ocean.
