Château Montaiguillon
Château Montaiguillon is a leading estate in satellite appellation Montagne-St-Emilion, across the river and uphill from St-Emilion itself. With similar limestone soils, a slightly cooler climate, and south facing slopes overlooking top châteaux like Cheval Blanc, l’Evangile and Figeac, Montaiguillon offers a glimpse at St-Emilion star quality without the price tag. It has been owned by the Amart family since 1949 and is currently in the hands of fourth generation Matthieu Amart. The 28 hectares of Merlott, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc lie in a single plot overlooking St-Emilion and Pomerol.
