Château Feytit-Clinet
Feytit-Clinet is a well-regarded name in Pomerol, making vibrant, poised Bordeaux which impresses more with each passing vintage. Proprietor Jeremy Chasseuil has been at the helm since 2000, when he took over the estate from Moueix. J.P.Moueix had been tending the vines as part of a lease arrangement, or métayage, since 1966, and the estate had been held in two parts. Jeremy’s father, Michel-Jack managed to buy half the property and Jeremy managed to acquire the remaining half in 2000. He now manages 6.5 hectares of clay rich soils, which suits the predominant Merlot and around 10% Cabernet Franc. Prices remain relatively modest, but with quality rising every year, they are unlikely to stay low for long.
