Catena Zapata
Founded in 1902, Argentina’s Bodega Catena Zapata has long been at the vanguard of Argentine winemakers expressing the extraordinary, high-altitude terroirs in the Andean foothills of Mendoza. After taking the helm of the family estate in the 1960s, Nicolás Catena Zapata played a central role in the resurgence of Malbec and has been credited with bringing Argentine wines to global prominence by placing a firm emphasis on quality. The estate’s Adrianna Vineyard, at approximately 1500 metres of elevation has been lauded as South America’s finest site and been called ‘South America’s Grand Cru.’
Now under the direction of Nicolás' daughter, the charismatic Dr. Laura Catena, the estate conducts extensive research and continues to be relentless in its pursuit of quality.
