2018 Rhône

The wines from the Northern Rhône are powerful, intense, and incredibly ageworthy; they will certainly be a mainstay of your cellar for years to come. In the Southern Rhône, the vintage saw tiny yields but they have led to some of the most delicious examples we’ve ever seen from the region. Furthermore, prices across the Rhône remain remarkably reasonable, particularly when compared with other parts of France.

2018 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc, Clos des Papes, Paul Avril

A wine that can be overlooked at your peril, the 2018 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc was produced in truly miniscule quantities. Such salinity and purity here, with notes of melon and pears. Drink it young, or keep it for decades. Wonderful.

2019 - 2029
Dry | Red | Still

2018 Crozes-Hermitage, Cuvée Gaby, Domaine du Colombier

A selection made by the family, this has spice, beautifully refined tannins, and a focus and salinity that’s simply brilliant. One of the best Crozes you’ll find.

2018 Crozes-Hermitage Blanc, Cuvée Gaby, Domaine du Colombier

A selection of the favourite tonneaux from the Crozes production. This is quite spicy and intense. There’s plenty of spearmint and apples, and then opulent spice on the finish. Powerful and ageworthy.

Young:
2022 - 2034
Dry | Red | Still

2018 Hermitage, Domaine du Colombier

Very inky, this comes from three different parcels, and production is tiny. Deep and powerful, with bloody notes and dark fruit and tapenade, there’s real intensity and structure here. Very long, very Hermitage.

Young:
2021 - 2032
Dry | White | Still

2018 Hermitage Blanc, Domaine du Colombier

This has a little Roussanne in the blend, for the first time. There’s plenty of apple fruit and lots of floral and fine notes, too. Really impressive and mouthwatering.

2017 Bandol Rouge, Domaine du Gros' Noré

Deep and chewy, with charming spice and a beautiful thread of acidity running through the wine, this is a brilliant Bandol from Alain. Such a delicious bottle now, in 5-10 years it will be even better.

2019 Bandol Rosé, Domaine du Gros' Noré

A stunning rosé, the 2019 has notes of peach blossom and wild strawberries, as well as lots of oyster shell and seaspray. An impressive wine, this will age, too.

2017 Bandol Rouge, Cuvée Antoinette, Domaine du Gros' Noré

Alain’s top wine, the Cuvée Antoinette in 2017 is outstanding. Notes of herbs, dark berries and tapenade swirl from the glass, with a poise and energy that draws you in. The finish is long and rich, but with beautiful detailing, too. Impressive.
