Verduno
With almost 200 hectares under vine, and 11 MGAs, the commune of Verduno is the northern reach of the Barolo region. Known as the ‘Sentinel of the Langhe’ this commune sits up at an altitude of 380 metres with beautiful views over the Tanaro river, separating Barolo and Barbaresco.
The soils are primarily Tortonian and comprised of Saint Agathe marl and there is generally a slightly warmer microclimate here. The style of the wines from this commune is all about elegance and aromatics.
The most famous site is without doubt Monvigliero which numbers among the region’s best.
