2014 Sancerre Chavignol Rosé, Pierre Martin

2014 Sancerre Chavignol Rosé, Pierre Martin

Another stand out wine from Sancerre, this should not be taken any less seriously due to the colour – it is more than worthy of the illustrious name! Pierre’s crafted winemaking applies just as much with his Rosé: 100% Pinot Noir, mineral intensity and natural fermentation. The quality of balance and fruit is effortless - simply put, I’m yet to taste another Rosé as good as this this year.

This wine is now sold out. Please get in touch with your advisor or one of our team on [email protected] or 01473 313 300 for more information or guidance on an alternative.

Pierre Martin

Based in the village of Chavignol, a few kilometres up the road from Sancerre itself, Pierre Martin is a talented young winemaker who is making his mark. He shares these steep slopes, including those of his vineyards Culs de Beaujeu and Les Monts Damnés, with celebrated producer François Cotat, and his wines are now reaching this very top level themselves. With only small volumes produced of incredibly impressive wines, Pierre Martin is rightfully fast garnering an excellent reputation.
