2015 Crozes-Hermitage, 'Domaine de Roure', Paul Jaboulet Aîné (2025 Ex-Château release) Dry | Red | Still | 14%

This is a Crozes-Hermitage from granitic soils. It is bold and unmistakably Syrah with notes of pepper, roast beef, black cherry fruit and graphite. There is wonderful intensity to the wine with layers of complexity with flavours of violets, tapenade, and a little liquorice root. Drinking perfectly now, it is a wine of real class.

2009 Hermitage La Chapelle, Paul Jaboulet Aîné (2025 Ex-Château release) Dry | Red | Still | 14%

The 2009 La Chapelle is modern legend of Hermitage. It has a soaring, complex, complete nose of ripe blackberries, dark chocolate, white pepper, and still some floral character. It is bold and muscular in style, showing a little puppy fat still despite 15 years in bottle. The palate is mouth-filling yet silky. It is a wine of concentration and boldness but real detail and complexity. There is the intensity and notes of smoked meat and warm rocks matched with rich and juicy dark fruits. It is a wine with a long life ahead of it.

2024 PSI, Bodegas & Viñedos Alnardo, Ribera del Duero Red | Still | 13.8%

Over 600 different parcels go into PSI from over 20 different villages. The old vineyards of the Ribera del Duero often contain a mix of varieties and PSI reflects the breadth of this heritage. The 2024 vintage blend is around 90% Tinto Fino and 10% Garnacha. A wine of huge potential, it shows a beautiful primary character of violets, hedgerow fruit with sinewy, supple tannin. There are accents of wild herbs and liquorice root with a freshness that runs through to the finish.

2024 PSI, Bodegas & Viñedos Alnardo, Ribera del Duero Red | Still

A blend of 95% Tinto Fino and 5% Garnacha, this is comprised of old vine parcels from across the village of La Horra as well as younger, massal selection vines. It offers a nose of bright red cherry, rosehip, vanilla and wild herbs. The palate is fresh, beautifully defined and full of intensity. With around 10% new oak, the tannins offer a gentle grip to frame the fruit with an energy running through the wine that demonstrates a real capacity to age. Production this year is down significantly due to April frosts.

2022 Burn Cottage Vineyard Pinot Noir, Burn Cottage, Central Otago Dry | Red | Still | 13.5%

‘Burn Cottage Vineyard’ Pinot Noir comes from the eponymous site, made with 7% whole bunch and around 26% new oak. Complex with dark cherry notes, violets and bright florals complimenting earthy, flint mineral tones and darker savoury character. Layered on the palate, this wine has a wonderful suppleness and depth of interest with expressive fruit and fine sinewy tannins. The palate shows length and concentration, and while delicious now, there is a definite promise of more with time.

2022 Moonlight Race Pinot Noir, Burn Cottage, Central Otago Dry | Red | Still | 13.5%

‘Moonlight Race’ references a water pathway that passes through the Burn Cottage property. It is one of several hundred water channels, or ‘races’, created during the early years of European immigration to bring water down from the mountains. The grapes are sourced from three estate vineyards: Burn Cottage Vineyard (38%), Sauvage Vineyard (25%) and Sappa Vineyard (37%). The three sites are planted on soils combining river silts, loams and quartz sands with broken-down schist and granite.Layers of aroma with dark cherry, florals, rich herbals, cocoa and earth notes. There is a lovely vibrancy to the wine, underpinned with density and mineral, savoury undertones. Supple and textural tannins partner the expressive fruit and extend through the palate.

2022 Sauvage Vineyard Pinot Noir, Burn Cottage, Central Otago Dry | Red | Still | 13.5%

The ‘Sauvage Vineyard' is 5.8 hectares of Pinot Noir located in Bannockburn on the northeast side of Felton Road. Savory aromatics with fine pepper notes, enticing florals, rich dark fruit and earthy characters coming through. Supple with wonderful layers starting to emerge, there is a lovely focus and length to the palate and fine tannin framework.

2019 La Côte aux Enfants Rouge, Bollinger, Coteaux Champenois Red | Sparkling | 12.5%

Impressive from the outset, the 2019 offers a rich, ample, and seductive experience. Succulent dark cherry, plum, leather, spice, and pomegranate delight the palate. It boasts fantastic depth, exuding textural richness and intensity in every dimension. Silky, polished and very elegant.
