2024 Bourgogne Blanc Côte d'Or Cuvée Oligocène, Patrick Javillier Dry | White | Still

This brilliant Bourgogne Blanc comes from limestone parcels scattered around the Puligny side of Meursault. In 2024 it is full and generous, with amplitude and drive. As usual it has seen 25% new oak, which is relatively high for a Bourgogne, adding savoury definition - you get a lot of bang for your buck here. It is a great introduction to the Côte d’Or.

2021 Brunello di Montalcino, Cerbaiona Dry | Red | Still | 14%

The inaugural vintage from the estate's new plantings, the 2021 Cerbaiona Brunello di Montalcino is arguably the finest wine the estate has made in a long time. It opens with aromas of dark cherry and wild berries, complemented by nuances of spice and wet stone. The palate is elegant and well-defined, where a lively acidity is balanced by substantial, velvety tannins. Its persistent, textured finish reveals notes of anise and a refreshing citrus lift. Possessing an underlying power and structure, it promises exceptional aging potential, yet offers plenty of pleasure even in its youth. Cerbaiona has some devout fans, and they will not be disappointed.

2024 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir, Samuel Billaud Dry | White | Still

Vaudésir sits high up on the grand cru hill, and is an east-facing sunny site, whose steep incline catches the sun’s rays. The wine is deceptively full bodied, with power and precision driving through the finish. Oak ageing gives depth, and this wine will benefit from a few years in the cellar before approaching.

Young: 2028 - 2038
2024 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses, Samuel Billaud Dry | White | Still

Preuses is famous for its minerality, derived from its chalky soils. In Samuel’s hands it delivers this typicity in spades. It is tense and refined, with a razor-like edge to the acidity.

Young: 2028 - 2038
2024 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre, Samuel Billaud Dry | White | Still

Samuel’s Montée de Tonnerre is a blend of two parcels, one of which lies alongside that of Raveneau’s. It has a wonderfully spicy scent, reminiscent of ginger. The palate is savoury and taut, with a tingling freshness on the finish. 20% is raised in oak, giving the fruit further breadth.

Young: 2027 - 2036
2024 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu, Samuel Billaud Dry | White | Still

This comes from three parcels, which are spread across the top, middle, and bottom sections of the premier cru. It is straight and incisive, with a concentrated, saline flicker on the finish. There’s a nice balance between fruit and minerality in this premier cru.

Young: 2027 - 2035
2021 Brunello di Montalcino, Caprili, Tuscany Dry | Red | Still | 14.5%

Caprili makes one of the best value and most under the radar Brunello di Montalcino; a dangerously exciting combo for Brunello bargain hunters. This family run winery is located a short walk from Soldera and Pieve Santa Restituta (Gaja). They typically produce a high toned, elegant and fresh style of Brunello. In 2021 they have delivered again. Lovely aromas of ripe strawberry and violets lead into a palate is darker fruited. Plenty of tannins and a lovely mouthfeel. This is a lovely linear wine with structure and good acidity. The long finish has minerality and a satisfing cirtus twist that keep it fresh.

2024 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Clos des Papes Dry | Red | Still

A medium ruby colour with a vibrant, fresh character. Juicy, ripe blackberry and cherries with a mineral finish and great length. On the nose pepper, garrigue, assorted spice, and violets with floral notes radiate from the glass. With its medium to full-body, fine tannins, and terrific overall balance, the Clos des Papes Rouge 2024 is complex and expressive.

2021 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Loreto, Mastrojanni Dry | Red | Still | 14.5%

The Vigna Loreto is a single vineyard Brunello di Montalcino from a South Eastern facing vineyard around 350 metres above sea level. This is higher toned than the regular Brunello blend, more defined by energy. It has an enticing nose of mint, sage and blackberry. The palate is soothingly round, where ripe wild berry fruits are guided by a cool, liquid-stone minerality and brisk acidity. It finishes long, with fine tannins, tart berry concentration, and a slight citrus twang. A truly distinctive single-vineyard expression.
