An opportunity to taste the wines from a master of the Rhône in both the North and South
It’s impossible to list the leading lights of the Rhône without mentioning the name Chapoutier. Their long association with the region is down to the quality of their vineyard plots: their single-vineyard Ermitage cuvées from the coveted Hill of Hermitage (red and white), are some of the most sought-after and respected wines in the appellation.
Michel took over the family business in 1988, and quality began to accelerate upwards as fast as the domaine grew in size. Today Michel is undoubtedly one of the greatest winemakers of our time, and his daughter Mathilde is set to continue the levels of quality already established.
We are delighted to have the opportunity to present a dinner with a range of wines from the Chapoutier estate, focusing on the magnificent wines of the Northern Rhône, but finishing with some exceptional aged examples from their vineyards in Chȃteauneuf-du-Pape too. There are few things better in life than Rhône wines in the winter months, and we are thrilled to be returning to Clarette for a brilliant meal to pair alongside.
