Taste a wealth of Barbaresco with one of the region’s unsung heroes
Compared to some of his local peers, Manuel Marinacci doesn’t have generations of winemaking heritage in his family. The Marinacci story starts with him - Manuel, desperate to follow his dreams of making top Barbaresco in Alba - set off to study winemaking and ended up a classmate of the legendary Giuseppe Mascarello. In 2004 he released the first vintage of his own wine from the little-known village of San Rocco Seno d’Elvio in Barbaresco.
Today the wines are among the most charming and approachable examples we source from Piedmont - combining purity of Nebbiolo fruit with traditional winemaking to make delicious bottles, and great value too.
On the eve of our Italy Growers’ Tasting, we will take over the Private Dining Room at the beloved Bocca di Lupo restaurant, where Manuel will present a range of vintages of his Barbaresco (and some Dolcetto and Barbera for good measure). With six different vintages on show, including legendary years such as 2019, 2016 and 2010, there will be no better opportunity to understand the terroir and allure of Barbaresco, alongside some exceptional Italian fare.
Do secure your place now for a wonderful night of Italian hospitality.
