Dinner with a pair of producers reaching new heights in Bordeaux
Despite being from opposite banks of the river Gironde in Bordeaux, Chȃteau Rauzan-Ségla and Chȃteau Canon have a lot in common. Both sit just below the top tier in their respective regions, yet make wines that regularly hit the highest levels of quality. Both are owned by the Chanel group, and both have skyrocketed in quality in the last decade.
Therefore we are very excited to be able to hold a dinner with the wines from both estates, as well as Chȃteau Berliquet in St-Emilion, to learn more about the changes that have taken place under the stewardship of Director Nicolas Audebert who joined in 2015. To compare and contrast we will also be diving into some older vintages, presented by Jean-Basile Roland, Commercial Director for the Chȃteaux.
We will be holding the dinner in the Private Dining Room at the newly-opened Midland Grand, in the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. Chef Patrick Powell has worked in native Ireland and in Melbourne, before moving to London to become Head Chef at Chiltern Firehouse, before opening the Midland Grand in May 2023. His French-influenced fare, seemingly understated but with hidden complexity, will be a perfect foil to these exceptional wines.
A very exciting dinner, with some exceptional wines. The ability to taste brilliant vintages from three Chȃteaux, from across two communes in Bordeaux, is not to be missed.

If you fail to do so, we’ll do our very best to credit your ticket towards the purchase of future wines, although regrettably, we cannot process credits with less than 48 hours’ notice prior to the start of the event.
