An intimate dinner with one of the great names of Hermitage
We are delighted to once again be joined by Guillaume Sorrel of Domaine Marc Sorrel, the latest generation of this storied estate in Tain L’Hermitage.
The wines of the Domaine, made from 3.5ha of vines on the legendary hillside of Hermitage in the Northern Rhône, remain some of the best hidden gems on our list at Lay & Wheeler. The reds, made in a style which prioritises purity of fruit over too much usage of oak. The whites are concentrated, decadent and unbelievably complex.
But the jewel in the crown of the estate is Le Gréal, a red Hermitage from the fabled Le Méal and Les Gréffieux sites. We are thrilled to have two aged vintages to compare, alongside the other exceptional wines from Guillaume, and some of Our Collection Saumur and Sauternes to start and finish proceedings.
We will be holding this dinner at Cabotte in the City of London in their Magnum Room, meaning an intimate dinner with just 8 tickets available. The food here is always superb, and more than a match for the Hermitage on show.
These wines really are the pinnacle of quality in Hermitage. It’s a great privilege to be able to taste them with Guillaume, and we suggest you secure your place as soon as possible.

If you purchase more than one ticket, please share the name(s) of your guest(s) with [email protected] so that we know to expect them.
If you can no longer make it, you’re welcome to find a guest to attend in your place - simply share the name of the new attendee with us. If you fail to do so, we’ll do our very best to credit your ticket towards the purchase of future wines, although regrettably, we cannot process credits with less than 48 hours’ notice prior to the start of the event.
