A dinner with Austrian superstar Roland Velich, and his magnificent Blaufränkisch wines
There are few winemakers who can command a room effortlessly, with everyone hanging on their every word. Roland Velich is one of these, and similar to the likes of South Africa’s Eben Sadie or the Rheingau’s Eva Fricke, spending time with him feels like a real privilege.
We’re delighted to be able to offer such an opportunity, as Roland is visiting London to host an exclusive dinner for a handful of our clients. The red wines of the Moric estate - all made from Blaufränkisch - are some of the finest of their kind, as Roland has eschewed the historic, heavier examples made from this grape, instead focusing on making elegant and pure expressions.
The dinner will feature a wide selection of his wines, including the very top bottles from the estate. We will be at Quality Chop House for the evening, where the intimate feel of their private dining room will contribute to what will no doubt be an extremely convivial evening. We’ve been a great fan of the superb fare of chef Shaun Searley for many years, and know the quality of the food will match the exceptional complexity of Roland’s wines.
