It can be all too easy to think of Brunello di Montalcino as a homogenous appellation, with similar terroirs and similar wines produced throughout. Yet that couldn’t be further from the truth, with huge variation between areas, individual sites, and producers. With the spectacular 2016 vintage proving incredibly popular, we’ll dive deeper into the region, and try to understand what makes Brunello di Montalcino so highly prized.
