1977 Quarles Harris
Brilliant brick red in appearance, this 27 year old wine is impressive. Now at its peak and packed full of spiced plum fruit flavours, both rich and open with a fine balancing sweetness. For a mature vintage port there is no absence of freshness here. This is a great example that reveals just why 1977is so acclaimed a vintage; it cannot fail to impress - beautifully long with a full, velvety texture. A lesser known House which, on this showing alone, is deserving of far greater attention.
