N/V Rutherglen Grand Muscat, Chambers Rosewood Vineyard, Victoria (fortified)
Dark and brooding, the colour of deep mahogany with considerable viscosity as it clings to the glass. Characters of moist, rich fruitcake although a rose-petal, aromatic quality infuses the whole palate from start to finish, highlighting the fact that Muscat is the variety in question. Very intense, with a terrific layered dimension, but by no means cloying. The complexity imparted by older wines in the blend is apparent. Certainly rare and certainly something to get excited about!
