2022 SP68 Sicilia Bianco, Occhipinti, Sicily

Arianna’s winery and many of her vineyards are based on or around road 68, from which this wine takes its name, and is one of the oldest wine routes ever documented. Made up of Muscat of Alexandria or known locally as Zibbibo (60%) and Albanello (40%) this white has a luxurious textural mouthfeel and displays fresh apricots, ripe stone fruits as well as lemon verbena, sea salt and thyme notes.

Arianna Occhipinti

Arianna is somewhat of a celebrity in winemaking circles having been part of the Sicilian wine new wave of focusing on old vines, indigenous varieties and minimal wine intervention since she started her own winemaking project in 2004. Based in the not so fashionable Vittoria area of southern Sicily, Arianna is focused on producing high quality and accessible wines, and is mostly known for her handling of the indigenous Frappato grape.
