A rich, inviting, enticing golden colour, the aromatics of this are amazing. Nutty and autolytic, just as classic Blanc de Blancs should be, it has retained great freshness and poise despite the roasting 2003 summer. Certainly deserving of its recent praise from Robert Parker. I love these wines: rather more vinous than a lot of Champagnes, they are delicate and elegant but retain so much expressiveness and depth.
