This was only a preview of the 2008 Brut Blanc de Blancs Clos Lanson, as the 2009 vintage—and perhaps the 2010, too—will be released before this comes onto the market. Mingling notes of buttered orchard fruit, citrus zest, brioche and white flowers, the wine is full-bodied, tensile and concentrated, displaying searing intensity and an introverted, acid-driven palate that possesses immense potential but which won't be ready for inspection any time soon. This is a classic in the making, but it will need time.
