Alphonse Mellot's winemaking echoes that of his Burgundian neighbours to the east. This is rich and fresh Pinot Noir with generous new oak giving it definition and spice.

Alphonse Mellot is one of Sancerre’s most historic estates, with a persuasive claim to being the oldest extant producer in the region. At least nineteen generations of Mellots have made wine here, and current incumbent Alphonse, the sixth of his name, proudly upholds their legacy. He trained in Bordeaux, Dijon and Montpellier before beginning work alongside his father (Alphonse Sr) in 1991. One of the Loire’s earliest proponents of biodynamic viticulture, he’s ensured the domaine has retained its status as one of Sancerre’s finest.
