Named after the small house that sheltered winegrowers, this wine comes from the east of the Hermitage hill, where the slopes are less steep and there’s a little more soil. It used to be known as Petite Chapelle, until the 2015 vintage. And the 2016 is a knockout. There’s dark fruit and smoky notes, and a hint of just barbecued meat here. Complex and very long, this is a stunning Hermitage.
