60% is the key number here. 60% of the cuvée sees some time in wood, whilst roughly 60% is Grenache, some of which comes from 50+ year old vines. The use of oak works well, softening the pure berried fruit. Slightly showy and sweet but with nice floral complexity, and a great mineral quality too, all held together by an impressively cooling yet serious palate. Very good as always.
