Robert Parker, 90-92+ points: “From an estate vineyard, the 2010 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine des Grands Chemins is primary, revealing a slight reduction. Jacques Grange explained that I tasted these right after a vacation period in France and the wines could have used more exposure to air since they had been slow and primary, and because of higher acids and a fresher style, they were much less evolved than they normally are at one year of age.”

With an impressive female winemaker, Claire Darnaud, at the helm since 2010 (though with experience there dating back to 1996), and considerable investment in the cellar to move to the historic town centre, the wines here are some of the more refined in the region. Careful never to use more than 40% new oak, Claire is a master of her craft.
