This is one of Meursault’s finest vineyards, shared amongst some of its greatest growers. Reaching this wine in the tasting marked a gear change - this has so much texture, precision and length. Outstanding.
The 2020 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet that leaps from the glass with wonderful orange pith, grilled hazelnut and pine nuts, a touch of smoke, très Meursault. The palate is well balanced with. a fine bead of acidity, fresh and poised, quite spicy with lemongrass notes lending it an almost Asian twist on the finish. For some reason, I’m drinking this with some Pad Thai! Superb.
