These vines were planted in 1965 and 1972. Aux Murgers is one of the warmer, and therefore earlier ripening sites in Nuits, and this 2019 is generous, luscious, whilst still vibrant, thanks to good picking decisions and sensitive vinification.

The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Murgers 1er Cru is very different from the Les Boudots, featuring vibrant red rather than black fruit and fine delineation; the essence of Pinoté in a glass. There is something carefree about the aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Silky-smooth and Vosne-like in style, revealing touches of dark chocolate and candied orange peel toward the sustained finish. This is going to be irresistible once in bottle. Superb.
