2013 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Bel-Air, Domaine Taupenot-Merme
Bel-Air sits just above Le Chambertin and is the only vineyard to come in direct contact with the famed vineyard not to be classified as Grand Cru. The altitude of the vineyard gives a coolness to the fruit and a crystalline purity to the wine. This is an amazingly well defined, chiselled Gevrey-Chambertin that is the very definition of refinement.
