2011 Pommard 1er Cru, Comte Armand

2011 Pommard 1er Cru, Comte Armand

Benjamin Leroux bottles the fruit from his younger vines (less than 30 years old) from Clos des Epeneaux under this Pommard 1er Cru label and, while it is a lighter and more approachable style than its bigger sibling, the breed of the vineyard (arguably one of two in the commune where promotion to Grand Cru could be justified) shows in the precision of the soft, crunchy and deliciously fresh fruit. Benjamin's touch is present in the soft and elegant tannins. An excellent Pommard 1er Cru.
