2012 Château de Fonbel, Grand Cru St-Emilion

2012 Château de Fonbel, Grand Cru St-Emilion

The Vauthier family who own Château Ausone also possess Château Fonbel, with the latter reflecting some of the class, finesse and seductive style of the former, while offering exceptional value for money. The 2012 vintage is blended as 60% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and 5% Carmenère. A deeply alluring fragrance of dark cherries, plums and lilac, with soft textures and finely-tuned tannins expressed on the palate. A little Moroccan spice on the softly-lingering finish. A wine not to be missed.
