2001 Château Gazin Rocquencourt, Grand Cru Classé, Pessac-Léognan

Now part of Malartic-Lagravière, Château Gazin Rocquencourt is reputed to be one of the oldest estates in Léognan, situated on a gravelly hilltop. This 2001 has developed wonderfully into a brooding, complex, smoky, spicy, leathery wine retaining beautiful freshness and a ripe fruit core.
