2022 Cinsault 'Geronimo', Lukas van Loggerenberg

2022 Cinsault 'Geronimo', Lukas van Loggerenberg

From the Rustenhof farm, with the closest Cinsault vines to the ocean, this is stunning. Bright and juicy, 40% stems brings a lift and a herbal complexity. There’s purity and aromatic complexity, yet it remains so lively and fun. Delicious.

Tasting notes

Geronimo has moved to a new terroir in 2022, back to 1970s vineyards planted close to the ocean in Firgrove. Fermented with 35% stems, it's typically taut and refreshing, all pink grapefruit, pomegranate and wild strawberry fruit flavours, top notes of Turkish Delight and a mineral core. 2024-29

Eben Sadie's Columella was the inspiration for this Rhône-style Swartland blend, made with Syrah, 9% Grenache and 3% Cinsault. Spicy, refreshing and zippy, it's a restrained, mediumbodied style with very little oak influence, red berry, bramble and pomegranate flavours and savoury tannins. A stylish second release. 2024-29
