New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc but not as you know it. Cape Crest is barrel fermented, after some brief skin contact, and contains Semillon and Sauvignon Gris in the blend, which invites comparisons to Bordeaux Blanc. This still has New Zealand's characterstic pungent fruit aromas, but with a savoury richness, smoky character and salinity on the finish. Beautiful now, this has the potential to age beautifully over the next 10 years.
