2013 Annabel Sauvignon Blanc, Staete Landt, Marlborough
Lovely aromatics on the nose of lifted citrus fruit with real concentration and focus, but it is on the palate where this really comes into its own. Pithy grapefruit and riper fruit notes are perfectly supported by a mineral chalkiness, whilst a lick of oak has endowed this with a gorgeous texture and weight. This is delicious now, but for those of you with better self-control than us, it will keep and develop over the next 5 years or so.
