Deep and inky in colour, there is a beautiful floral character to the nose, with aromas of violets, dried flowers and liquorice. With ample, mouthcoating tannins the palate is serious, but well-balanced with perfectly judged freshness. Purity is the buzzword here, with a wonderful clarity to the dark fruit, all backed up by notes of anise and a savouriness provided by the French oak. This is very impressive indeed.
