The Clos du Marquis shouldn't simply be seen as a second wine of Léoville-Las-Cases; rather, it is a fabulous expression of a unique terroir. The 2014 is a real delight; aromatic and pretty, the blackcurrent fruit is ripe, pure and very rich indeed. This is impeccably balanced with a truly fantastic fruit profile from the 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. In my tasting book I simply wrote the words, "real Cabernet, this".
