This is saint-julien at its most exciting. Suave and sophisticated, broad and lacy — all the facets of high class bordeaux are here. There is nothing forced or ugly about this wine which proves yet again that intense colour, flavour and tannin extraction sought by some are very questionable 'virtues' in Bordeaux' wines. Jacques Boissenot is the consultant oenologist at Ducru and we are great admirers of his philosophies.
