1998 Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt, Highland
A combination of oloroso casks, ex-Bourbon casks and newly-charred oak casks are used to mature this 23 year old minimum whisky. This is full of soft, creamy flavours of coconut, caramel, toffee apple, and ginger powder. There are lighter toasty notes in the background but this doesn’t dominate. There’s a viscous texture, almost oily and savoury. With a drop of water fresh citrus flavours come through. Truly delicious.
