Delicate in colour, but still incredibly pure, the 1977 Dow’s is a lesson in elegance and drinkability from this venerable old Port house. Notes of raspberry liqueur and blood orange on the nose, with a hint of leaf litter and pot pourri. There are still some slightly grippy tannins, but with a nice thread of acidity and plenty of acidity on the finish, it’s an impressive bottling.
