The Quinta do Noval vineyard is one of the most highly regarded vineyards in the Douro and the wine world. The 2021 vintage port is made up of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinto Cão, Sousão and Tinta Roriz and aged for 18 months in large casks prior to bottling. This is a fantastic vintage where temperatures were consistent and there was enough water supply for the vines compared to previous more recent vintages that led to a relatively extended harvest and beautifully balanced profiles. There are bramble, plum and cherry aromas supported by clove and cinnamon spice notes with hints of dark chocolate and dried cranberries. There is so much generosity and complexity that benefits from firm tannins that have a sweetness to them.
