This is a seriously seductive wine that is redolent with heady blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry fruits. There are floral notes that filter through – violet and rose petal, alongside a serious smoky element. The palate has a superb texture, the tannins are firm but ripe and sweet. All in all, there is a magnificent interplay between delicate, fresh and poised fruit and serious, concentrated, dense structure. There can be no doubting this wine’s supreme pedigree and in a vintage such as this, it is hard to beat. (Given 94-96 points by Neal Martin in the Wine Advocate)
