The inky blueberry fragrance is alive with dense layers of beautiful florals and a streak of graphite freshness. The palate is quite simply explosive – concentrated and sweet, comforting yet serious where the tannins provide a firm grip and texture. The length is incredible – it goes on and on and the layers continue to build in a crescendo of brilliant dark fruits and attractive mineral essences. Perfection. There were only 200 cases of Nacional made in 2011 and we have managed to secure a generous allocation. Whilst the price is deservedly high, this wine will no doubt reward those who are patient for many, many years to come.
